In less than two weeks, I can safely say that I'll be on my well-deserved vacation. Granted, that means I'll still need to handle my finals, but I think I've got this in the bag. It's a damn good feeling to know that I'll soon have some time off again, albeit a few weeks only. I know that almost two of them will be off of work too; to hell with that bullshit, especially around Xmas time. I've dealt already with my fair share of assholes, ignorant pricks, naggy bitches, and just the general scum on the top of tomato soup. I'm not exactly sure who told these people that acting like assholes will get them better service, but I can safely say they're wrong ass folk. All I care about right now is getting paid, though; this past month has been shit to me as far as finances go...and lord knows it's not gonna be much better in '09, as our monthly board is going up, yet-the-fuck-again. Sure I know shit costs more, but it's like the saying goes, "everything's up but my paycheck."
So let's get started with the week's updates. Not a whole lot's really been happening. Well...that's actually a blatant lie; plenty has been happening, between classes wrapping up, the trips to lunch and craft stores with my friend-folk from Theatre, and the overall tomfoolery in the library (which I can't wait to stop doing). It's not been a cheap process, but given the things that I've picked up that I haven't expected (some of which being free), it's been quite worth it. I'm certainly getting my ass networking, and that might have some ties to what I might be doing with my cell phone planning.
To get into that, I'm FINALLY fucking due for my 2-year upgrade. Ironically, as long as I've been waiting for this, I'm having the hardest damn time deciding on a phone. My choices have been narrowed down to: The LG Dare, the LG Voyager, and the LG EnV2. They each have their pros and cons, but what I think it'll boil down to is spending about an hour in the store, dicking with each of them extensively to decide if I want a full touch screen, or one of two varieties of keyboard phones. If you were wondering why I'd buy a QWERTY keyboard phone with no media/text plan, I'm gonna get to that now. Much as a damned hypocrite as it'd make me, I think I'm going to wind up getting one of the packages. This is mainly because SOME people don't fucking listen when I tell them not to text or picture message me, but also because it seems like that's the only goddamn way to get ahold of people lately. It's pretty sad to realize this truth, but it is indeed a sad truth. Anyway, that's my little dilemma for the time being. Trivial, I realize...but it keeps my brain from killing itself.
Karate's been going good, but I get the feeling that being minorly sick is effecting me just enough in sparring to be getting my ass handed to me. I've not been having the best of progress with that, but outside of that it's all positive news. I should be getting my zip-up hoodie on Wednesday, which is awesome-tastic. That's pretty much the only thing to be looking forward to this week, as everything else basically involves a presentation, a speech, or work. My focus right now is still pretty much on the vacation part that happens in a few weeks. Which reminds me, I have to write a reminder note to my manager so that there aren't any surprises or problems when I don't show up for what is, in actuality, only about 8 days. I say again: I earned this, I deserve this; I can take the little pay hit.
I think that's pretty much all that I can divulge really. If you were living in my shoes a little bit more has happened, but I can't be expected to remember all the details. That, and I have to start compiling my notes for the next block of material in karate. Busy, busy indeed. Well, until next week, I leave you all with my usual speak of behaving yourselves, and for all of you who're getting out this week instead of next week, good luck on your finals. So long as you're not a ding dong, you'll be fine. Peace out, folks!
