2009; A Good Feeling

Nov 12, 2008 22:07

Why should 2009 have a good feeling paired with it? Well, because we've got a motherfucking Democratic president! Join me in some much-needed (and significantly late) celebration for Barack Obama - our 43rd president, and the first African American president in the history of the US. Man, I'll tell you what, I was so damn relieved to hear when he was chosen; it was as if a great burden as lifted from my shoulders. It's about time we took our country back and restored it to the proud place it once was, and Obama's just the guy to get it done. So in case y'all didn't notice, I'm like 3 days late. I've been a tad busy with my damnedable schoolwork, but I've made some time to let you fine folks know that I haven't forgotten about you. Let's begin, shall we?

Bluetooth...can suck my nude-colored dick! Seriously, after the trials and tortures I've been through in the past week with this godforsaken shitstain of technology, I've come to the conclusion that they seriously need to work more on this "Bluetooth headset" everyone speaks of. In the meantime, I think I'll just use speakerphone, and use that $50 for a new hoodie. Admittedly, I've been doing a little bit of buying in the past week, but with the economy soon to be on the rise again combined with me getting paid in about a week, I'm not too overly worried. In specific, I got myself a new shirt from the new Big 5 that just opened up next to us. It seems like a cozy lil' place, and it still smells of new store. I'll likely be making several trips up there, depending. In addition to that, I finally found a case for my digital camera. I went a little bit mainstream and got a Sony-designed case. Shit though, at least I know it'll FIT in the damn case.

School-wise, I'm doing so-so. We had a disabled person come to visit us this Tuesday, and I got my last week's quiz back. Yeah I scored a 100 - eat it, bitches! Biology, however, was not so grand. I got a 72 on my last test. I'm not TOO worried, but I'm fuckin' pissed because it seems like there are a few more trick questions (or rather trick answers) than necessary. Speaking of that class, I was finally able to finish my goddamn research paper...and not a moment too soon. Lo' and behold, we got our speaking schedules today, and you'll NEVER guess who goes first? Yeah...the guy with the criticality of blood donation...me. I sometimes fucking hate my life for just such reasons. As for (Re)public Speaking, I did my informative speech on kenpo, which I feel good about. Next comes our persuasive speech; should be fun, if you enjoy jerking off with sandpaper. I actually considered, once upon a shower, using my English 1102 paper on laptops in the classroom. Then again, I also considered the risk of using my one work twice, not to mention the fact that I'd have to go back through it and gut the damn thing and change the citation format from MLA to APA (for the record, I think APA is the dumbest fucking format style I've ever seen). I'll just have to pick a topic and roll with it. It's not due for a few weeks, but it never hurts to be prepared. The good news is, it's my last big project that I know off...so I think I might be in the clear after the presentation of these two tooth-pullings.

Work still continues to irritate me, especially considering that it seems lately, a select few people habitually are calling out or leaving early because of alleged sickness. That bugs the shit outta me because I know these people don't have legit excuses. Of course, this should make my 2-week vacation all the easier to obtain; if they can get away with this cheap-out shit, management shouldn't blink an eye at my desire to have 2/3 weeks of my break off. Of course, I won't be letting THEM know I'll have a full week left open. In reality, it's not two actually weeks worth of work I'm taking off. Taking into account the days I work, it'll be taking 8 actual workdays off - a fact I plan on bringing up if I need to justify my request at all.

Outside of this, I'm just stoked to know that Obama's gonna be the next president, that I've bought pretty much everything I need, high end-wise, and that we're almost done week 11 of our semester. That reminds me, I need to go register for the next term's classes very soon. That, and the Camry needs an oil change and probably a tune up. Such a busy ass person I am, yeah? Still, I manage to survive...and the gears of time continue to grind against each other in the mechanical passing of life. It's on that note that I shall leave you all until the beginning of the next week. Belt test at karate is coming up, y'all! Who knows, I might even have a video to show off. Oh, and before I go, here are a few of those links I was telling you about. You know, the pictures. Anyway, peace out...and everyone behave your asses!

"If we put you in that shirt, we could kick your ass, and then the wow balloon would come up and say 'GAY'!"
