I got a new car on Monday. It's a 1999 Chevy Malibu, 65,000 miles, one owner, clean title, a decent car. So it was time to retire the war wagon. Well my dad had to bring his truck into the shop on Friday, so he decided to take the wagon to work. While on his way to work, somewhere in Salem, New Hampshire, the wagon's transmission finally fails on him. So I'm certainly glad that I got the new car when I did. Rest in peace war wagon, you've served me well...my mother too. To add insult to injury for my dad this weekend, the same day the wagon died on him, he cuts down a tree in the back yard, and misdirects the way it falls...and it lands right next to the Central Air Unit. Wonderful. So my dad is trying to cut off the limbs with the chain saw, and then the saw slips right into the the Central Air Unit, slicing right into it in a cloud of the coolant stuff. All this on the eve of the two hottest days of the year so far. So, it's hot as hell in this house right now, and it's going to cost a ridiculous amount to fix the central air. Son of a bitch.
Other events this weekend include my mother's birthday yesterday, Applebee's and Ocean's 12 with the guys on Friday night, and the sox this afternoon. Some of my development boards for work still haven't come in, and I gotta tell you, it's starting to upset me. The summer is half over, and I'm still waiting. Speaking of the summer being half over, it's going by waaaaaaaaaaay too fast. It really needs to slow down. Blah. Anyways, that's the story. No Central Air, no more war wagon, and after buying that car, no more money, but at least I still have cash flowing in. Time for the sox game. They've been doing awesome. I expect nothing less from today's game.
