I’ve been feeling a bit lazy with doing updates recently and now it is too late in the day to be doing some kind of sentimental end-of-the-year post. Boo.
Anyway, since I last posted I have been on holiday to Rome with Em and to Yorkshire with my family. I think it’s fair to say Rome was a hell of a lot more fun. Em and I stayed in a lush hotel that provided a humungous breakfast buffet every morning, needless to say we made sure we got our moneys worth! We did the usual tourist thing and visited the Vatican which we both found completely over commercialised considering it’s considered one of the most religious buildings in the world. Everywhere you turned there were stools selling pictures, rosaries, posters, books, postcards etc etc, which was slightly annoying, but as was expected the Sistine Chapel was beautiful. We also visited the Coloseum, the Palatine Hill, saw the Trevi Fountain and sat on the Spanish Steps. We also ran into Patricia and Rosanna Arquette in a museum about Keats, Shelley and Byron that we visited and had a stroll round the Jewish Ghetto and one of Rome’s modern art galleries. Since getting back we have suffered from the travelling bug, so much so that Em is packing her stuff to go to Egypt . I think we are going to go to Barcelona in Reading Week some time, as long as the £££ is going ok.
After that spectacular holiday I had a more fairly chilled one with my family in Pickering, Yorkshire, which was nice just hanging out with the rents and my brother and sister. It was nice coming back to see everyone in Norwich but was sad having to return to Croydon, however I shall be back soon! Noah left the day after me, but he promises to return to see us at ‘Hard Drinkin’ Lincoln’ (his words, not mine) soon.
