First of all work this year isn’t as bad as last year. Although I am in the same office and my old colleagues are still around, my actual team is different and a lot more fun, which thus makes being at work more fun. But only by a little bit. I think my mind has finally set into work mode there is no university to run back to come the end of September. This is my life. And it is this feeling of impending doom that makes me more motivated every day to search for a better job, because I don’t think I am cut out for this for much longer.
I very almost got myself a job interview at Renegade which is a music promotions company dealing with (mostly) indie artists - think The Twang, Arcade Fire, Feist, Mark Ronson etc etc. They sent me a bunch of emails each wanting more info out of me, but when it came to the crunch they said that they actually wanted someone based right in the city in London. The job itself would have been in Hammersmith and it sounded absolutely perfect - except for the fact that they expected me to live in London and go to gigs, read NME and every other music mag on a weekly basis, plus work ‘til 7pm on a measly £15,000. WTF! So, that was a bit of a waste of time but it did make me sort out my CV which I had been pissing around with. Oh and get this - one of them even added me as a ‘friend’ on facebook. I suppose to suss me out or something (luckily I was one step ahead of the game and had already removed all incriminating photos and information) but to all of you - YOU HAVE NOW BEEN WARNED!
So how is the job hunting going for the rest of you?
Another thing - I think I’m going through some kind of Rite of Passage here but I have suddenly really started to like Tegan and Sara. But that’s another story, and not a very interesting one at that.
