So everybody seems to be posting the progress on the new year's resolutions so I guess I will too. I'm just killing time basically, but whatever:
1) Be able to bench 210 (currently at 180)- this will probably not happen. I was NOT at 180 because that was doing a bench on a smith machine which is ENTIRELY different than just a regular bench. Last time I benched with a barbell it was only around 90 or so (AKA My wheelchair bound grandma could bench more than me). My current regime has me doing dumbbell presses and not barbell presses. Basically this goal was about me seeing progress and getting stronger, which I know I am, but it needs to be done differently due to my body type.
2) Have a salary based job by June at the absolute latest- Manager training for Olive Garden starts in March! I am somewhat frustrated with this because I am very happy with the company and I feel like it's what I want to do with my life, but looking back at college and all that money that went into it and I just go "well what was that for?". I've spent my entire life in restaurants and it's where I'm really happy and I really do believe that I would eventually like to own my own place.
3) Completely revamp my wardrobe- I have a new pair of shoes that are gorgeous and casual which I use to replace my skater shoes. It's amazing the difference the shoes make in the overall outfit. I have also resisted the urge to buy more t-shirts which I pretty much used to do compulsively. I bought a few new casual shirts as well, so overall I'm off to a good start, but I'm still just that black t-shirt and jeans guy, which is both frustrating and comforting at the same time.
4) Work diligently on all relationships- Yes and no. I'm still extraordinarily selfish but I find myself thinking of Steph and not hesitant to bring her up when talking with others more. Not in a talking smack kind of way, but just like a, she's cute and here's why kind of way. Also, I think of really cute things to do for her about 2 minutes too late ALL the time, which makes me look heartless, but I'm just absentminded. Isn't that what I've said all along? This resolution was basically about not being afraid to open my mouth. I'm getting better with it at work, but I'm still the worst person in the world to make small talk with (AKA I'm a really boring bartender). I would talk with people online more but they are rarely online and available so I can't very well do that if they are not around. I'm still 70-80% terrified of the phone. I would like to see some of my friends around here, but I don't know where the time would come from.
5) I didn't write this one down, but another resolution is to type gramatically correct regardless of the forum. I slack with that on AIM but I'm giving myself a little leeway with that.
This has nothing to do with any of that but I just finished reading Watchmen and holy timole was it fantastic. I was hesitant because the entire plot had been divulged to me prior to my reading it, so I knew X, Y, and Z happened. That took NOTHING away from my enjoyment of reading it though. It truely deserves all the recognition that it has received over the years. Only two weeks until the movie comes out and then I can be one of those annoying fanboys that goes "WELL THAT ISN'T HOW IT WENT IN THE BOOK!". I can't wait. I also want to see Coraline pretty badly. Again I enjoy things that are marketed to little girls and macho men.
