The Arcade Fire.
They are probably the best band I have seen in recent years. All about community and love. See - this is this: I have made a list of the best shows I have ever seen. Al - you were there for a couple!
1) Belle and Sebastian - in Chitown. "A Century of Fakers" made me cry. I stood in the back.
2) Jeremy Enigk - in Madtown. In 1997, I had just gotten over my first panic/anxiety attack. At any given moment, I believed death around the corner. Tehn Jeremy broke into "Abigail Anne." I wept while siiting on the floor.
3) Modest Mouse - in Green Bay. Saw my friends open up for them. There were like five people there. "Cowboy Dan" was a highlight.
4) the Arcade Fire - I hate the Mad Planet. But. It was like all beauty placed forth into something intangible. It was the best show that I had ever seen that I had limited hopes for. For an amatuerish position, I think this may have been the best show I have ever seen.
5)r.e.m - 1994 - "country feedback" and inhaling smoke from afar. Yeah.
