The show is selling well, we've had two 2/3rd full houses so far, that's about 140-160 people each night.
Yesterday I saw four shows, here are one line reviews of them.
Heat Wave (Venue 5) : Worth seeing, but wait until they work out their nerves. Good performances by the male lead and his love interest, great chemistry between them. However, you don't need to know that the show is 45 minutes long in a 70 minute slot to realize that half of the story got cut.
...your company/table for... (Venue 7) : Starts slow, ends slow, but the middle parts are fun. Lots of emotion in a story about love and relationships and how a random date develops into something much much more, but sometimes the transition can be jarring as the play has a 'memory play' feel to it and jumps around a lot and uses (in my opinion) an unnecessary amount of repitition.
Jesus in Montana (Venue 3) : A slideshow about one mans experience in a cult and how it changed him into the man he is today. Interesting fun story that was almost sold out when I was there. Definitely one to see, it's engaging and the hour flys by. As well the performer is very approachable to ask further questions about his experiences.
Voices in My Head (Venue 4) : I'm biased about this one, just to get the disclaimer out of the way. The writer/director/producer/singer/actor of this show is Simon Miron and he's pulling double Fringe duty by being in this and Lucrezia. Poor stressed guy. I didn't know what to expect going into the show, intially doing it out of friend obligation, but I was glad to find out that it is a cabaret style sing and dance and show number. Well worth checking out! He sings songs, and tells the stories about the voices in his head which are his Ambition, his Youth and his Mother. Very well done concept, and since Simon is a voice teacher as part of his career, he is always a treat to listen to when singing.
Today I don't know what shows I'm going to see, since I have already lost my first Fringe program! Oh well, just have to head into work early and figure it out there.
