The words flow from my fingertips like music from a piano. I’ve been partnering with Alexander Hayden, the same co-writer from Talos on a new script. The difference is, there’s an actual production company interested in it.
Alex ran the treatment by me a few weeks ago, and with as much on my plate as I’ve got, I figured my role would be strictly advisory. Then I read the treatment. I made some solid suggestions which I think pushed it from really good, to really… gooder?
Anyway, the producer loved it and wants the script, on spec of course, by the end of August.
What a pleasure it is to write from a solid treatment. Oh, my fingers race, my heart soars, and as is the case with me, a man who likes a lot of irons in the fire, now my “stuck” scripts have miraculously sprung ingenious solutions.
Now Talos is similarly “treated” to Alex’s and my mutual satisfaction, and my other co-writing script with Andy Glickman, which I though was going to die at the “interesting concept” stage is revitalized, and I’m on the trail of a novel option I thought I could never get before, that suddenly seems within reach.
Life is good. Writing is good.
