It was the day before I left Hong Kong, I was on the train with my mom. She's asking me how's living by myself in Sydney's like, am I doing okay and stuff. Then she asked about what do I do in my spare time that I'm single, I said, "A lot of stuff, drawing, watch tv and play video games..." Then out of nowhere, she said, "video games? Just don't be gay!" (Note: too bad it has to be in cantonese for it to have the full effect, as playing video games (da gei) in cantonese rhymes with being gay (gau gei) in cantonese...)
"wtf!?" was all I could think of, and so I said, "Mom, that's prejudice against my sexuality." Which she replied with, "Em.. no! It's just that I am not use to it yet."
Then I said something I thought I'd never say to my mom, "Mom, I am still pretty perverted towards girls, so I don't think I'll be gay anytime soon."
Which she replied with a wicked grin, and moved on to another topic.
Makes me wonder what she's reading/watching these days... maybe design is just gay to her...
wtf
