In a stark contrast to my last entry, we're heading out to pick up Street Fighter 4 in a few minutes. Pretty crazy to think we're actually going to be playing it. I mean, we were playing Street Fighter II forever from when we were just kids. Street Fighter 3 was, at least to my brother and I, a lame disappointment of a sequel, but from what I've seen and read I have high hopes for this one. I guess we'll know in a couple of hours whether or not it disappoints.
And while I'm talking about gaming, I'm currently on a break from CoX (the City of Heroes/Villains games), but Issue 14, the next free expansion, just went into open beta. Issue 14 is going to allow players to create their own missions with their own custom bosses just like the creator we use to create our characters (possibly the minions as well -- don't know yet). For anyone who doesn't know, CoX is by far the gold standard of character creation in MMOs and is one of the main reasons I still play the game after more than 2 1/2 years. Needless to say, allowing us to create our own missions has the roleplay/fanfic nerd in me squealing with delight. I don't know just yet how much power the tool will allow for creative freedom, but even if we can only write our own dialog, choose our map, and customize our bosses, I'll be happy. Of course, the more features for me to play with (please with the custom minions) the happier I'll be. I'm very much looking forward to getting more info to whet my appetite. I plan to return to the game when it hits open beta.
Anywho, that's all for now. /gamenerd
