(Again, I am not really a communist, any relation or resemblance that Red Ken has with any real living or dead Ken should be considered purely coincidental)

Segue II: more Communist Q&A with Red Ken

Yesterday was pretty somber; today will hopefully be full of fun and games. So, without further ado we are off to the races.

Hey, Red Ken are you for real?

Well, it isn’t a question about communism or my take on it. It also doesn't seem to be a question about any issue or material subject. In fact this question seems more philosophical than anything which allows me to answer it fairly easily. See, communism is a materialist philosophy and deals with the material world and I am a material… wait… where was I? Oh… right! While we are on the internet which, by its nature, has an illusory quality to it (and we are talking about a notional person here as this little rants semi-fictional author) I can still assure you that I am in fact real. (Mostly)

Is red your favorite color?

Not really.

If so/not then why do you call yourself "Red Ken"?

Uh… ok this one must have been from someone born after the fall of the Berlin Wall. Before the odd appropriation by the American conservatives in the so-called red states (aptly named because they actually take more federal tax dollars than they give back) the color red was associated with the scourge of Christmas… I mean Communism. Ok, maybe matadors too, but there was a time where if someone called you 'a red' or 'a pinko' they were suggesting you were communist, or possibly soft on communism.

And while Communist Ken had a certain off alliteration I was afraid that it would be mistaken for the Red Dawn series of Barbie Dolls somehow.

Were you serious when you suggested that you would be running as a communist or socialist?

Yes. I will seek and gather as many different party endorsements as possible for whatever office I can jump into. Probably one that is normally unopposed. I also intend to make full use of the new IRV system in St Paul as well! (and yes I really am serious about running)
