Headline comparison

Strib:

“Life in Prison”
Really big graphic of Moussaoui getting life in prison. Artistic renditions of Moussaoui with a backdrop of some victems photos. A victory over news and content at last. In terms of the story there are all of two and a half clipped paragraphs. Sadly the beauty of the graphic is unavailable on the internet.

Article about public pensions being in trouble
http://www.startribune.com/462/story/409312.html
At last a relevant story with implications for educators and state employees. Amazing.

Article about Puckett’s ashes:
http://www.startribune.com/509/story/410454.html
I fail to see the relevance of this story.
How much do you want to bet that one of the parties involved in this are working with Pohlad to grab the ashes and committ them to the “Kirby Puckett Memorial Baseball Arena?”

Blurb about the premiere of “Prarie Home companion” film
And how is this not in the variety section?

Really big graphic about “Prarie Home Companion”
Ok, great. Celebrities in Minnesota. Isn’t this what lifestyles is for?

Article about Moussaoui:
Interesting context-“jurors spare his life” and “9/11 plotter escapes death penalty…” It speaks of justice somehow being thwarted. Would the Press have headlined it: “Jury grants Moussaoui’s wish and makes him a martyr” had they found for execution?

Article about “Bachman being a solid GOP favorite for 6th District”
Nothing like boosting for your team, but at least its relevant.

Article: “Top soft drink matkers pull plug on school soda Machines”
Of course this is good public relations for Coke and Pepsi, and therefore should NOT be front page

Blurb: “Paris gets the ‘Idol’ boot”
Whocares/lifestyle section.
