Music is one of the biggest parts of my life. I got into punk rock when I was 16 and tried out for my first band Skuzzy Bogie when I was 16. We played at this old paper factory called The Art Factory that had all the best punk shows. At the time I was obsessed with Leftover Crack and a ton of 77 and street punk bands. My tastes changed to more of the peace punk persuasion and crust took over when i was around 17 or 18. I got a lot of my friends into it and started Systematic Overthrow when I was 18. That band was epic for me because we went on 2 tours and ended up making a decent name for ourselves. Our lineup changed a lot through the years and eventually our guitar player ended up riding trains so we ended it. The three of us that remained in town ended up hooking up with one of the best drummers in town and formed Utah Spirit Babys. The style is a lot more thrash/crust and more unrelenting than anything ive been in before. We haven't really put anything out yet and unfortunately the band is on its way out. Chaz and I broke up a year ago and things in the band haven't been the same since. After that break-up I started listening to a variety of different music and finally opened myself up to indie rock and bands I hadn't listened to in years. This spring I started up TIMBER!!! with a few guys I had never been in bands with before. I decided to actually sing for once since i hadn't tried since i dropped out of show choir at 16. So far it is the most well received band I have ever been in. The style is more along the lines of sonic youth, husker du, mission of burma, and pretty girls make graves.
