I had a VERY interesting weekend. It all began Sunday morning when I woke upto find my heart racing out of control. i waited around hoping it would calm down on its own but finally after roughly 6 hours Jason and I decided that I should go to the ER. Upon arrival I was hooked up to a heart moniter in admit where the lady flipped out when eshe saw that my heart rate was @ 188.(this is roughly three times faster than it should have been.)s she flipped out and rushed me to a bed, befor she could get the EKG in there or get me hooked up to the moniter I felt a crushing pain in my chest. It was so intense that i couldn't breath, I voiced my concern but no one listened and after a couple minutes the worst pain i've ever had passed. once i got hooked up to a moniter my blood pressure and heart rate had returned to normal. Now they drew 4 tubes of blood, that was miserable and I bawled, loudly. After 3 hours of waiting the doctor came in and said that they were going to need another blood sample. he also informed me that i was negative for drugs. so i cried somemore and gave another sample. an hour later he said that they were going to have to rerun the second sample they took cause it showed an increase in the level of a cardiac enzyme that indicates a heart attack. after rerunning the sample they informed me that indeed at 20, i'd had my first heart attack. They kept me over night at big rapids and i got a nice ambulance ride to GR the next morning. they ran some more tests in GR only to conclude that they have no idea what triggered my heart. the best they could tell me is that my heart has a short circuit so that it beats crazy fast for no reason. its called SVT(super ventricular tacicardia). the reason for the heart attack was because my heart was beating so fast that the veins and arteries connected to it couldn't keep up. so my heart seized like having a normal heart attack. the fact that the rythem lasted for 6 hours had them worried also the fact that they saw my irregular heart beat quite consistantly on the moniter. (I've always had this but no one ever believed me till now)  I'm doing dandy and feel right back to normal, I don't have to change my lifestyle, so i can eat what i want still and just hope it doesn't happen again. oh yea and thursday i have to go pick up a moniter i'm supposed to wear if it happens again. yippie!!
