Intermediate German skills (he will rarely use it, he doesn't think he is that good)

Misc for my sanity: Ignis from Jingai Makyou
Due to the Perfume Plot, Aya has developed DID, resulting in two personalities. Aya lost his memories from the perfume he found, which had a hole in the glass and the vanilla scented liquid was all over his hands. He lost his memories of being an assassin and was simply known as Ran. The influx of memories after having lost them for several days resulted in Ran being unable to handle that much trauma in a span of a few seconds. Aya resurfaces, and it will seem as if Ran may have been a one time thing. This will not be the case.
Aya is the main personality. Ran is the second. The second personality contains all the memories of Aya's past, but no recollection of Crashers, Weiss, Kritiker, Schreint, Schwartz, Eszet, etc. So he is before all the tragic events that befell him and his family. Aya will retain all memories of the past and present. The most Ran knows about his past is that Aya-chan is not aboard the Thor. Ran is pretty opposite to Aya because of how much more talkative he is compared to Aya, how much less of a recluse Ran is in comparison to Aya. Where Aya is incapable of outright enjoying life because of guilt, Ran can experience that easily due to being blemish free from bloodshed.
What will trigger a shift in personalities:
For Aya switching over to Ran: if Aya has not gotten enough rest. For example, if he has sleep deprivation. Also, as Aya is not the best when it comes to talking about his past, if things get too intense, the other personality will take over.

For Ran switching over to Aya: when in a dangerous/traumatic situation. Aya is the stronger personality, and Ran wouldn't know how to defend himself properly.
Depending on which personality is on the surface, nightmares will cause either to switch out. Aya is the protective part of himself, but so is Ran in the way that he is very innocent, and ignorant bliss is a gift. Losing consciousness will also cause a shift. The scent of vanilla may cause a shift as well.
A journal will be kept for the sake of keeping up with the loss of memory/time in between switching personalities. Their handwriting will be different. Ran's will be neater while Aya's will be slightly less careful, but still legible.
There is little difference in their appearance, because facial expressions. Aya favors frowns and scowls more than Ran does.
