We're A Going!!!
So things are finally starting to work out for us and I think our streak of bad luck has changed direction! Thanks Goodness! Joe got a promotion at work so he'll be bringing home a bit more a paycheck and he got offered to switch to the day shift, with Sun and Mon off! I finally got the job I wanted (well, sorta anyway) and will start work on Oct. 7th. But what really ended up being our savior was the fact that I had forgotten I had Starbucks stock, from when I worked there, that we were able to cash in. Too bad the stock market sucks, as I lost quite a bit of money from what I started with... but it was enough. Enough to help me get a newer used car (a moment of silence for my little turquoise-blue car - you were a trooper!) so that I'm now the owner of a 2000 Mazda Protege.
Wow... I've never owned a car that had power windows and locks before. *g* And the window washer fluid works on both sides of the windshield! And the headlights shine light in the same direction in front of the car at night! And there's no coffee stains on the seats... yet. And the car doesn't have to think about it for a moment before it moves after you stamp down on the gas pedal... it just goes! Woooooow. Having a newer used car kinda rocks! So far anyway! :)
And what's nice is that we were able to afford another month of mortgage on the townhouse, get me new glasses and contacts so that I can really see again, and best of all, now Joe and I can go on a long Labor Day weekend trip to Dragon*Con! Yaaaaaaaayyyy! I needs me my fangirl fix! I really didn't want to have to give up those tickets! This is going to be so nice after all we've been dealing with. We've already had to cancel on three separate trips this year because we just couldn't afford to go. :(
So hopefully this streak will continue and something will happen to help us out with the townhouse. Please let something happen soon...
