Things seem to have settled down. Looks like I picked a good bad good an inopportune time to be kidnapped, but Arche has more or less explained everything to me. Still, I can't help but think that there's more to it than what I've been told.

A lot to take in all at once. Basically, the Malnosso tinkered with the barrier, and a lot of people were affected by it: possessed by the local spirits. And that they weren't happy with it, so they wanted those who weren't affected to kill them all off, and even restored everyone's powers to do the job.

Not that anyone did anything, thankfully, but those bastards ended up doing the dirty work themselves.

That I am not sure, but it is something worth investigating, as is the criteria by which people were affected.
