Thanks-- I just need to leave well enough alone. I can't remember the last time I've tinkered with something so much. It's probably going to be my only story in this fandom-- I've already told you my perceptions of the community specifically, but Hugo's writing is so frigging voluminous and dense that it's really hard to find an inch of territory that hasn't been covered in canon already!--so I really wanted it to be as strong as I could make it.

It is strong and poetic and has a final feel to it. Very much in keeping with that moment in canon.

I am not sure I am inclined to read a whole bundle of AU stories for this pairing either. I think that is what I meant by my reaction of "perfect."

You really outdid yourself with this one. Even though I haven't read the book I know enough of it to know how exceptionally you captured their relationship. I wish I had the words to praise all the little subtleties of character and events you've worked in here but I don't so I'll just say this is beautifully done. I haven't wept this much since I saw the movie.

Thank you so much. It was really important for me to get this one right-- I don't know how much I'll be playing in that fandom-- the source is so dense (they don't call it The Brick for nothing!) that it's hard to find any niches in which to play-- and my love for these characters stems in large part from what becomes of them. I feel like there's not a whole lot of room for leeway if I want to be "true" to them. So I wanted to make this story "count." And I wanted to do them justice.

I really hope you read the book-- if only the chapters pertaining to Les Amis. And within that, if only the chapters..
* "A GROUP WHICH BARELY MISSED BECOMING HISTORIC" (which describes all the Amis)
*ENJOLRAS AND HIS LIEUTENANTS (Which is a great E/G vignette)

The bulk of the barricade story takes place within THE WAR BETWEEN FOUR WALLS. The chapters are all quite short but dense. And gut-wrenching. There are so many absolutely incredible moments that bring these characters to life. I wish someone would just make a movie/musical about this ( ... )

You got it right and then some. I read the parts of the story your linked and Enjolras and his Lieutenants after reading your fic and was even more impressed with your characterizations. I loved the way their ending was written by Hugo and I can totally see your guys fitting into Hugo's work. It would be great to see just their story.

After I spoke to you I had actually started my own vignette but I give, this is just too perfect. I can see not wanting or needing to do more in this fandom but there needs to be at least one awesome fanfic of their relationship and for my money this is it.

I love your deep multi-dimentional understanding of characters, your style and your storytelling. This is a perfect fic, best one I ever read of Les Miserables. Thank you for that.
I just wish you wrote more of them in the future :)
