My works (of calligraphy)

Feb 25, 2007 16:09

These two pieces, took me about 2 weeks to finish during my secondary school days. It's "zhuan shu" (seal character) 篆书, one kind of classic character of Chinese culture.
The passages are about "xinjing"心经 in Buddhism.

It's not easy to write this just with a writing brush. But i am glad i have completed it.

Yes, I love how the Zhuan Shu characters were derived from the pictograms before the Chinese text were formed. And the style is very artistic and attractive. :)

yeapyeap!! that's true!!
Zhuan Shu characters were derived from Jia Gu Wen...
that's again more to the shapes of the things or substance.
And yea, it's very interesting! Always wonder how the words could be derived, till nowadays' chinese simplified characters... It's amazing.
But i felt the simplified one are really too simplified, and had lost the beauty of chinese words.
