Camping In Spring~

Apr 26, 2010 03:26

During last Easter holiday, I joined this activity called 'Cuti-cuti Musim Bunga' (Holiday In Spring), hosted by the senior members in Malaysian Student Association in Southampton. Frankly, the REAL reason that I wanted to join this was they had HORSE-RIDING!!! ^O^

The camping was held in Manor Farm, deep inside the coniferous forest in the Hampshire area. I didn't really have a clue where exactly the site is because we went there in car, drove by Abg Syahmi who actually relied on tom-tomo find the place. Hehe :P. The site is so damn beautiful, very peaceful and calming~ And... cold... -_-

The camping took three days and two nights, but it wasn't anything like the DOE type of camping. There are cabins made out of wood, and there is even a main building where you can find dining hall, kitchen and activity rooms. Also there is a beautiful garden between the main building and the cabins. The cabins are particularly amazing. These wooden buildings look like roofs, and have ground and first floor.s Also the cabins are well fitted with a small kitchen, a bathroom that has hot showers, 3 bedrooms each has 2 single beds, and a living room with two bed-sofas and television. However, we had to top up the electricity everyday in order to get warm.

CCMB (abbreviated term for the program) was actually to promote awareness about Islam in the world, Malaysia and... Brunei. Also, we had people from Plymouth joining us - so it wasn't only for Soton-ers. Talk, talk, talk... Debate... And games were the things we'd done there. Although I got exhausted from all these eventually, but they were worthy.

And there was a very important lesson that Anis and I had learnt from one of the activities called water balloon fights. In this game, there were 4 teams - each member was given 3 water balloons, and the first task was to get the 3 hidden clues. The rules were; first, whoever gets wet needs to go to the middle ground called the grave and she cannot play the game unless she's revived by team's winning; and secondly, we can steal the clue by throwing balloons at other teams. Therefore, my team resolved to use 'Guerrilla tactic' in this mini war, attacking from behind the bushes... And in the end... We LOST in the first battle, though all of us still had our balloons. Sigh~ We really felt that we were true LOSERS... So the lesson was, Guerrilla tactic is a coward tactic in war. AH AHA! T_T

The last day was joyful as I got to ride a horse... I was provided a brown grumpy horse called 'Daunty'. He's a cute grumpy teenage horse... But I liked him~ And he is 15 years old... Hahaha... We're young!

And the pictures are below... Some were edited by this enthusiastic young man, Haziq from Plymouth.
