yesterday was extremely eventful. I went to school to take a BCIS and PreCal midterm and then we had early release. We had to meet back at the school at 2:30-ready to leave for region auditions.
chillin in the orch room before we left. daniel decided to be rude.
alright so it's about 3:10 and jack is not there. mcclung: "someone call him ane tell him we're leaving." alright so i call jack and he literally picks up the phone and before he says 'hello' he goes 'SHIT!' lol yeah, he had fallen asleep and was still at home... he goes "ill be there in 10 minutes" haha so we had to sit there and wait for jack. well, while we were waiting...the band kids were getting ready to leave for the football game. umm and they had a football. we all get on the bus...and mcclung gets off and goes and plays football with him. it was one of the funniest moments of my life.
anyway, jack finally came and we got a pep talk from mcclung. another good one.
"alright guys, so the other team is a lot better than us...but I know you're well prepared...let's roll."
yes, that's what he said.
anyway, we played the "in my pants" game for like an hour on the bus. then we finally get there (yes, late) and go to our rooms. pretty sure there was a viola A and a viola B room. everyone was in viola A, except for me. cool. so i sit in the back by this hspva girl and color in my disney princess coloring book for like 83927498327 hours until the judges come in. they come in. there are 3 viola judges. i know all 3. 1- mr. anderson, my stand partner in cso. 2- catherine park, stand partner in church orch and my private teacher for a year. 3- mr. willer, i've known him since 7th grade. sweet, too bad this is a blind audition. anyway, we play the slow etude and i sucked it up. i had to go first on the second etude and i did even worse. I was 200% sure I hadn't made it. there was NO way. I was so sure that I left to go across the street and eat knowing that the results would be up soon. this was the result of that adventure:
yeah, a powdered sugar fight. =)
anyway, daniel leaves to go look at results and he eventually calls and tells me that i made it. coooooooooooooool.
we finally left there around 10:30 or so. as we're walking out of the cafeteria mcclung's on his phone giving us astros updates and leading us to the bus. he stops in front of the bus and we start to file on...a few people get on and they're saying "umm i dont think this is our bus...it's not the one we came on" and mcclung's response was "strike 2...full count....who's up to bat next?...how many outs again?" haha so we all get on the bus and we're like "McClung this is NOT our bus!!!" ...mcclung gets up and walks off the bus cuz he can't hear what the person on the phone is saying about the astros. haaa. so we sit there for awhile. mcclung comes back and goes "GUYS, THIS ISNT OUR BUS!!!..EVERYONE UP!!..why didn't yall tell me this wasn't our bus?" yah, good job mcclung.
anyway, on the way home we were all on our phones finding out how the stros were doin. i dont wanna talk about what happened...i hate fat albert. (btw, today my government teacher said that minute maid got so quiet that you could hear pujols' legs rubbing together as he ran the bases. HAHA!)
anyway, here's just how hard it was not to be watching the game and having someone tell you what's going on over the phone. i was way more nervous listening to what was happening to the astros than when i was auditioning. is that bad?
anyway, we finally get home around 11:30 and mcclung's giving the music to the people that made it. he hands me my folder last...and im like "uhh if i've played any of this stuff before im gunna be kinda mad." kelly and i both open our folders at the same time and guess what piece is first?...yeah...HOEDOWN!!! haha we both screamed soooo loud. it was hilarous. and then we're also playing Pirates of the Caribbean. goooooood stuff. i'm excited.
yeah sorry that was so long.
