Economy Lessons

I'm not allowed to get onto Livejournal at work anymore (stupid Barracuda blocker) so I haven't been updating this thing as much as I used to do. When I get home from work (and starring at a computer all day) I rarely get onto the computer unless I need to do homework.

My parents got robbed Wednesday morning. My Mom took my Dad to work and when she got home the backdoor was open and stuff was missing. On top of that, my Grammy got robbed one morning  two months ago. People freaking suck. I'm glad Mom was not home though. They filed a police report and CSI came over to the house to dust for prints. That is the house I grew up in and it feels weird to have some unknown person roaming around in there.

In the last month or so I have applied for about six different jobs. None of them are in my field. Three of them have been with the California Energy Commission. I need to get out of my current job, even if I have to do something unrelated to my M.A. degree. I need a change and to work somewhere where they don't fuck with people constantly.

Nick and I got our tax refund two weeks ago and are now trying to get projects ready that need to be done on the house. The first one is our windows. . .  most of them need to be replaced very badly. A window company is coming out on Tuesday to give us an estimate. We also have to rebuild most of our fence and landscape the backyard. At the moment our backyard is a big weed zone. Lots of things to do.
