Dear Friends,
For those of you who did not know, three weeks ago Friday, we were given the tragic news that Glenn's leukemia had returned with a vengeance. Needless to say we were devastated that after the long hard struggle we had over the nine months we were in Seattle. We arrived back home to Jacksonville Aug. 3, with Glenn completely clear, and our life ahead of us. Friday Sept. 15, he had the pleasure of seeing our son, Jordan, wed his fiancee Jolia in a private ceremony in our home. On Sunday Glenn was unable to attend the reception, and instead entered hospice. With a broken heart, I regret to inform you that Glenn passed away at 12:05 a.m. Wednesday Sept. 27.
A memorial service celebrating his life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday October 1, 2006 at Congregation Ahavath Chesed "The Temple" at 8727 San Jose Blvd., with Rabbi Michael Matuson officiating. Those wishing to address the gathering in the way Glenn touched their life, are requested to leave a written copy of their thoughts for his family to cherish.
In lieu of flowers, donations for a stand of trees and benches dedicated to Glenn's memory can be made to the Glenn K. Allen Tree of Life Memorial Fund, C/O Congregation Ahavath Chesed, 8727 San Jose Blvd., Jacksonville, Florida 32217.
Thank you for being part of our journey.
Love,
Sharyn
