I've started scheming for my birthday celebration.  It's the big 3 - 0, so I want to do something memorable.  Unfortunately, school for Bill starts on Aug 27th (just a professional day, kids come back a couple days later), so I have to schmooze his principal and get permission for him to miss the morning.  The only thing I'm going to say right now is that thanks to Skybus, the new low cost carrier that will be based in Columbus, R-T tickets will be a steal!  Hopefully, I'll know tomorrow whether things work out.

We're planning on booking our tickets to Seattle for a long weekend in July later this week, and I've started planning my SIL's bachelorette party along with my other SIL and that is going to be the weekend of Aug. 18th.

I'm busier than I ever though I could be and it is taking me some time getting used to balancing work, school and life.  I have done very little knitting and even less garden prep.  I'm hopelessly behind in my seedlings and I really need to re-pot my tomato starts if they are going to be ready to be planted in a month.  Garden-wise, I'm a little frustrated because I think something has been eating my bulbs.  I had a ton of daffodils last year and this year, almost none.  I think we've got squirrels...

We do have our visiting robin again.  Over the course of the past week, a nest has been under construction on the cross support of our arbor.  No eggs yet, but I'll be sure to snap a few pics once mama robin settles in.

My BFF and I had talked about trying to get together in August to celebrate our birthdays together (we are 2 weeks apart) and it is just not looking like that is going to work out *pout*.  I may have to make my way to CA on one of my school breaks later on this year to make up for it.

Last weekend my youngest SIL graduated college.  She has softball for 2 more weeks, then she is officially done and out of there.  No job lined up as of yet, but she is going to Curacau for 2.5 weeks in July on a softball trip.  Color me jealous.  Not for the softball part, but for the Caribbean island part of the trip.

As a result of our trip to that state up north, I'm tired.  I drove a lot and got very little sleep, so I feel like I'm playing catch up.  I'm looking forward to a weekend of lots of sleep and not much car time.  I have a research paper to do this week, so I'm sure there will be plenty of schoolwork mixed in as well.  I have school tonight, but tomorrow I must hit the books hard core.  I need to have a first draft done by Saturday so I can submit it to the writing center for a solid critiquing.
