foxgrable What wine to serve with Superbowl dishes and why:
Spicy chicken wings = Riesling.
This slightly sweet wine will enhance the flavor and take away some of the heat!
Hot dogs & hamburgers = Pinot Noir.
A nice light red Pinot Noir will complement the saltiness of the meat.
Nachos = Sauvignon Blanc.
The citrus will help break thru that thick and heavy cheese sauce!
Baby back ribs = Zinfandel.
The soft berry will go nicely with any sauce the ribs are cooked in.
Chili = Sangiovese.
It’s big enough to stand up to the ground meat and spices but soft enough to not overpower the tomatoes and beans.
Pizza = Syrah (Shiraz if it’s from Australia).
A syrah will go great with everything from sausages to sliced mushrooms.
Party-size sub = Prossecco.
This sparkling Italian wine will cut through the sharpness of the cold cuts and bring out the flavor of the cheese (even if it is American sliced cheese!)
