He could barely remember the good times anymore, just the screaming and the accusations. In the corridor, just to one side of the band room stood a girl. She’d been at the front of the crowd, singing along, she wouldn’t make him feel guilty, she would be grateful for whatever she got from the great Henry Mallet...

If I was a cartoon my jaw would have dropped. Suzy, the uptight dentist was dancing, and not just moving about to music, but actually dancing. I moved towards her, feeling the music, oh it was torturous not to be able to touch anything. How much I wanted to touch her. We moved into the bathroom to talk more freely. I wanted her so bad that I had to crack jokes so I wouldn’t look like a complete fucking idiot. After that, touching her hand in the other place was bloody amazing. I think I could love this... and her.
Invisible Light - Scissor Sisters
How is it possible that the most important person in my life is invisible to everyone else? He exists, I’m sure of that, there is no way I could invent so many details about a real person. Henry challenges me, makes me not a better person, but a fuller one. His own life was so wild, full of things that I could never do, but he doesn’t make me do that, he just wants me to expand my boundaries. And I’m happy to do it, not just because I enjoy it, but because now Henry can only live through me.
Avalon - Roxy Music
The end of the day is one of my favourite times. The kids in bed and me waiting for Henry to appear. Usually he disappears while we eat, leaving me some time with the kids. Then he comes back late at night. Most of the time we talk but not always, there are times when we’ll just sit without talking, me drinking a cup of tea, him reading or watching me. Its those times, when the only sound is the distant traffic noises, that I treasure. It feels like the world fades away and its just the two of us.
Cream - Prince
She doesn’t understand just how sexy she is. That woman can drive me to fucking distraction. Its probably for the best that she doesn’t understand, if she did she could play me like a guitar. I know I’m playing a dangerous game by encouraging her to get out. If she does meet ‘a normal man’ I’m screwed, but she’s the best person I’ve ever met and she deserves the best, better than me, even if I was alive. With my influence to loosen her up she’ll be un-fucking-stoppable, guys will fall over themselves to get her. I’ll probably regret this.
