Yet another casualty..
Sunday afternoon, Rob was vaccuuming in the bedroom, when suddenly the thing let out a vaccuumy scream of pain, spewed smoke, and ceased working. Rob unplugged it and turned it over to investigate, finding the belt had snapped and the roller-thingy, part of which had snapped as well, was being strangled with hair.. Long RED hair-- CAT'S hair. The smell of it and rubber burning filled the house.
Today I took a shower and washed my hair.. I rarely use the hair dryer on it (maybe like five or six times in the past five years) but decided today would be a good day not to have it sit cold and damp. I turned the hair dryer on and it was going fine for about a minute, but then suddenly a jet of flames exploded out of it with a loud POP before it conked out as well. I dropped it in the sink with a squeal, and Rob ran in. He unplugged it and turned it over, peering into the back of the hair dryer. The culprit? A wad of hair.. RED hair, somehow lodged inside the machinery.
Yes, indeed.. As Rob said just a minute ago, Cat's hair has waged war on the apartment.
