Jam-packed and fun-filled

So this weekend was originally supposed to be a trip to Vegas for Me, Kim and Becca. Well, that didn't happen... Instead we had a 'girls' weekend. Friday was an epic trilogy of Grey's Anatomy including the two-episode season finale where too many people nearly died, and a few people actually died... Good catharsis, though I didn't bawl as heartily as I did during the Private Practice season finale. Dell's death there was still a bit too close for comfort with Cam's similar head-trauma thing.

On Saturday I was lazy all morning, and then at just after two, Rob & Kim picked us up and we headed off to Red Deer to go spend some dinero at the Casino. Now, none of the people on the trip but me had ever been in a casino, so it was interesting to see them all goggling at the flashy lights and sounds. We played some slots which weren't particularly fulfilling (i can't see why people waste their money on them) then headed off to the blackjack table where we were fortunate enough to find an empty table and a lady willing to teach us. She was a lot of fun and was a good teacher, so we didn't feel like complete morons. I at one point won $30 which isn't bad considering we were playing $2.00 bets.

After a few hours @ the casino, we headed back to the city where we went to the Sicilian Pasta Kitchen for dinner. This place has the most FANTASTIC calamari ever. Not to mention the pasta which is so amazing you want to keep eating forever, but there's always enough that you can still take an entire portion home for lunch (or in our case, breakfast) for the next day. Dinner was awesome, as expected, and though we were too late to catch the late show of Robin Hood, we decided to rent a movie instead. We ended up watching "Everybody's Fine" with Robert DeNiro. It was good, heartbreaking, and poignant all in one.

Sunday morning, Becca & I heated up our leftovers and watched "The Tooth Fairy" before tackling some of the cleaning tasks o' the day. I killed & took down a tiny paperwasp nest that had been started on the garage door, took out 3 HUGE bags of random garbage out of the basement including one FULL of DVD cases & CD cases. i've decided that since I've had my stuff in binders for the past 7 or so years, it's just a much smarter way of storing things. And, since I'm not a big collector of special editions or anything, the DVD binders work just fine for me. Such a good feeling of accomplishment. Now, don't get me wrong, I've still got a TON of stuff to deal with and go through before I'm ready to actually move at the end of next month, but at least it's a start. I feel like I've begun to deal with the clutter in my life, and the sooner I can get all my stuff where it needs to be, the better. Kim & Keltie came over at about six, and we went to see the BackUp Plan. Cute Jennifer Lopez movie, but completely unrealistic. Unforutnately for me there was a man beside me that kept snorting and choking throughout the movie, which was absolutely disgusting, so ew.

We came home, and after a bit of a visit, decided to do a lipdub video. this was one of the things that was on my bucket list, so I guess I can cross that one off, but the quality is kinda crappy. I learned how to use Windows Movie Maker though, so that's awesome and fun :)

The results are on FB now, so yeah...

Now, it's time for bed. Super Mario Galaxy 2 came out today, and I REALLY want to get my hands on a copy of it, but I think I'll just need to be patient and wait until I have a second job to help bring in some $$$.

Yuck.

Night!
