so the road trip to colorado became a road trip to remember...and was a lot longer than expected.
if i were to go into detail, i would be selfishly bombarding your journal with my rambling. so i will do it briefly. i shall.
along the way, the car conked out going through the rocky mountains around vail, colorado. have you ever seen a car drive backwards down a bike path along the side of the mountain? well if you have, chances are, it was us. yikes!
the show went well. bill stevenson's little daughter maddy was so adorable and came on stage and danced during our set. there was a decent amount of people i guess, considering it was the 3rd day of the show and a sunday afternoon.
well, then we stayed at salt lake city, utah on the way back...and then in the morning, after only driving an hour and a half, the car breaks down again. we manage to get to nephi and find a ford dealership. here comes a scene from a movie: trapped in a small town with car troubles. it'll take 2 days before they can get the right part. egads!
so we decide to drive like 40mph along the shoulder of the freeway back north towards spanish fork which is where a ford dealership could get us out of there that day. along the way, we got a police escort which was hilarious (and the pictures didn't come out though, wah). we got to spanish fork (THANK YOU UTAH HIGHWAY PATROL!) and we needed a fuel pump, a new filter and a spark coil...they didn't have the spark coil so we had to rent a car, find a hotel and wait until 2pm the next day when the part would arrive.
things after that went rather smoothly, well compared to what we had gone to...and then the car started having brake trouble, making this hideously grinding noise...
que sera sera.
we got home 12:15am on wednesday morning instead of the 10pm monday morning originally intended. it was fun, adventurous, scary, and yet wonderful.
i don't know how i would have managed without jason by my side. ordinarily the stuff that we went through could easily torn two people apart...
but it only brought us closer (if that's even possible!)
it's good to finally be home.
*whew*
