I should be studying...

Hello Guys and Gals!

I find that I am settling, no longer challenging myself. Settling allows for less stress about the things that matter (to me) and more stress about things I think do not matter as much. With that being said, I have just had a realization, settling is not better (I had been wondering about that) than challenging myself!

Can we ( Read more... )

Yes, trust is interesting. I'm finding that lack of trust invades so many areas of life...

For example, last night a group of us were just talking about changes going on at school. One of them involves the cafeteria: the Board is thinking of hiring Chuckwalls, or whatever it's called, to run our cafeteria. From what I hear, they're not the best. But this one guy was SOOO distressed over it. He kept bringing the conversation back to food. Over and over and over again. We prayed together at the end, and this guy was praying, asking God to not let him down, and to help there be good food or he'd move off campus." Obviously there was a deeper issue there than just the fact that he wanted good food. He told some of us as we were walking back to the dorms that he doesn't really trust God, and he hasn't in the past. If we can't trust God (or people, for that matter) in little things, how will we trust him with other stuff?

Anyways, that was a random story.

Thanks for the mention of those books. I don't get time now days to read just for pleasure, but I will keep them in mind!

One quick note. Do whatever you can to not get Chartwells. We have it here at the U of C and hardly anyone enjoys it. There are some good point but overall, try to avoid it, really do.

And its something interesting to be distressed over food. THis is not coming from a trust persepctive but on where we come from a land of plenty, and we have alot of food at our disposal. There are places with such little food, if any available to its citizens, and we are complaining about food quality. We know we are a spoiled country when. Just a thought, one you have most likely had a few times over. But how do we stop, I have tried but I mean, its interesting because I really do think food dictates a lot in our world and it is a huge issue. BUt yeah, that is my two cents there.
As for trust, it is hard. We just have to do it, but I guess I can't say just trust God, I mean you have to if that is what you believe, but I think we all question it.
At the same time though, the little things over the big things, I don't think we can/should categorize things. Everything to me in this world is equal. No matter how big or small, it all impacts who we are and how we as global citizens and as a world on a whole live out our lives.

Okay that is enough, time to study more!

Goood luck with finals if that is where you are at!

Peace, Kelsie
