On the third night of their honeymoon, Bill and Tonks carried the blankets and the pillows outside the tent and spread them out beneath the endless desert sky.

"All those stars," murmured Tonks, amazed at the sheer number of them. She'd spent most of her formative years looking at the heavens through fog or smog or streetlights, sometimes all three.

"You Blacks and your stars," said Bill, giving her a playful elbow to the ribs. "But you're right; they're bloody gorgeous. They used to say the sky was a goddess, did you know that?"

"Mmm, tell me about her." Tonks always liked a good bedtime story, particularly when delivered in Bill's too-sexy-for-his-own-good baritone. She snuggled closer, resting her head on his shoulder. She inhaled the scent of him, spice and musk and clean sweat and the dragonhide tie in his hair, and knew this was how Amortentia would smell to her if anyone ever happened to brew some up in her presence.

"Her name was Nut," he said. "I'll show you some tomb paintings tomorrow. She had blue skin, sort of a midnight blue, and she had stars all over her body."

Tonks began unbuttoning Bill's shirt. "As many stars as you have freckles?"

"Almost," he said, chuckling into the spikes of her hair. He let out a quiet "mmm" as she pulled the shirt down over his arms and tossed it away, then continued his story. "She fell in love with the earth god, Geb. They couldn't keep their hands off each other."

"Can't imagine what that's like." She closed her eyes as Bill pulled her T-shirt over her head. His hands grazed her breasts on the way up.

"Me neither," said Bill. He took one of her hands in his own and moved it to his lap so that she could feel the hardness there. "So, right. They were just as bad as we are, and so nobody could live on earth because there was no space between the earth and the sky."

"So too much shagging was destroying the world." She unbuttoned his jeans; he pushed himself up onto his hands and feet for a moment to help her get his jeans and underpants off. She stood up, shucked the rest of her clothes, basking in the heat of his gaze, in the cool night wind.

She saw his adam's apple move as he swallowed, saw him blink as if he hadn't seen her in the altogether a hundred times before. Then again, it wasn't as if she ever got tired of looking at him...

"So what happened to Nut and Geb?" she asked.

"Oh. Them." He licked his lips. "The other gods separated them. Sad story, really. Come here..."

"In a minute," said Tonks. She bit her lip and concentrated. This would be one of her more difficult transformations; a damn sight harder than making pig noses for Ginny. She drew a deep breath, let it out, felt the change tingle up and down her skin.

Tonks looked down and saw she'd succeeded; she was cerulean from head to toe and dappled with a hundred silver stars. Bill's mouth was a wide O of surprise. Grinning, she crawled into his lap and pressed him down to the blankets.

"They won't separate us," she whispered as she took him inside her.
