~Just For Today~(latest poem)
Hello there,this is my latest poem. I had to write it for my English class. It's based off this huge long quote from some guy. Well, here it is:
Just For Today
Just for today,I will wake up grateful. I will not dwell on the things that I'm missing in my life. I will accept what I have.
Just for today,I will try my best,not to succeed,but just to get by. I will accept the challenges thrown my way. I won't get upset when I haven't accomplished those challenges.
Just for today,I will be free and try not to live up to everyones' expectations. I will try to accomplish my own dreams. I will follow my own path.
Just for today,I will accept myself for who I really am. I will believe in myself even when no one else does. I won't put myself down when I haven't accomplished something.
Just for today,I will not dwell on things from my past that only upset me. I know those things only bring me down to a very negative level in my life. I will concentrate on my future, and how I can make it the best it can be.
Just for today,I will be truly happy,instead of pretending. I will find the one thing in my life that makes it worth living.
Just for today,when someone asks me if something is wrong,I will tell them what I'm really feeling,instead of telling them that everything is fine. I will not hide behind this fake smile any longer. I will not let this build up inside of me.
Just for today,I will accept that I don't always have to be happy,for there is beauty in the breakdown.
