Kid stories from today's grade one class...

Peaches wanted me to post kid stories. Lucky for her, I went to grade one today...

Whilst assessing Devonte's recognition of letter names and sounds:
Me: Devonte can you tell me what letter this is?
Devonte: F
Me: good. What sound does the f make?
D: ffff
Me: Great. Can you think of a word that has a f sound?
D: The only word I can think of is a bad word. I don't think I should say that one
Me: That's probably a good ide-
D: oooh fish!

Evan (after coming in from recess): Mrs. R. (his teacher) do you know what my favourite part of the body is?
Mrs. R: No Evan, what's your favourite part of the body?
Evan: The stomach
Mrs R: Isn't that interesting
Evan: Yep. I don't know why, I just like it.
*Evan walks away*

Destiny: Kelsey, guess what I'm gonna be for halloween?
Me: I don't know Destiny, what are you going to be?
Destiny: I'm gonna be ascream
Me: Ice cream? (she mumbled..I guessed)
Destiny: No a scream (a little clearer)
Me: Ohhh, scream, like from the movie?
Destiny (looks puzzled): No, a scream, like a person who screams but I get to wear a big white mask.
