lisalemonjello graciously assigned me the letter k, with the instruction to 'choose 10 things that begin with that letter and write what I like about them.' Of the examples that I have read thus far, respondents have written what it is that makes them like the thing they list that begins with the letter. I am thinking I may take the more liberal approach and write what I like about the thing I list, as in whatever I damn well fancy allowing come forth from my brain(-soul?-)-finger connection. We shall see, below...
And if you leave a comment, I shall choose, from 26 possibilities, a letter that appeals to me for you. (Edit: turns out I stuck to the first translation generally, but that doesn't mean you have to.)
1. kinky Normal, average, and conservative aren't attractive appellations to me, unless we're talking about blood pressure.
2. kisses I like soft skin kisses, fresh breath kisses, gentle bestowing-love kisses, 2-become-1 kisses, mutually agreeable kisses, unexpectedly gallant kisses...
3. Kama Sutra My friend Ken (3a?), who died in 2004 in his 80s, had framed prints from the Kama Sutra on the walls of his study, where many times I sat to type his book or chat. I like the reverent yet frank celebration of sexuality in the Kama Sutra.
4. kookaburras I have thought perhaps this bird might be my totem. What I like about it is that it is accepted as quintessentially Australian although it's alien. I like its strength, and its resilience, its flashes of iridescent colour, and its invariable presence.
5. kith Well, natch.
6. kin To complete the pair. A lot of people don't like their families though. I like mine, for the most part. I am harbouring some resentment toward one particular branch at the moment (one of M's siblings and family), and it's likely nothing more than a reflection of my own shortcomings, as usual. Sigh. In general though, I love my immediate family and appreciate the support they give me in learning my life's lessons.
7. kedgeree Don't knock it 'til you've tried it. Healthy, hearty, delicious and a textural dream. (Although the results of my own attempts at cooking it have been a bit on the gluggy side.)
8. kaleidoscopes What marvellous instruments they are, to titillate sight. What a beautiful encapsulation of constantly changing transience.
9. karri As per my userpic (that photograph courtesy of
fractal_thought). A (fine, upstanding) tall eucalyptus with hard red wood, native to my childhood home, Western Australia.
10. Kate Bush Not only does this lady know how to sing, she knows how to tap into the talents of her peers, and lyricise to perfection the finest ingredients.
