My flight from Temuco was extremely smooth, and I was at the B&B just after 2 pm. I'm in the annex, which means I have air-conditioning and a private bathroom, but unlike the first time I was in the annex, I don´t have a view. I have windows which open onto a shaded courtyard, and the courtyard has little tables and they have a view, but I have to admit it´s a bit disappointing. After I´d had a few minutes in the room I went to reception and asked if B5 or B6 was available, and they´re not, and not due to come free during my five days here, either. Oh, well.
So I went across the road for cerviche, which was served in a cup so tall it was actually hard for me to reach the food, and then I went to the nearest supermarket and bought some Kunstmann beer to drink at my little table, since the B&B does allow guests to use the refrigerator. The wifi in the annex is much better than in the main building where I was in November, so I can have Netflix instead of a view. The B&B has computers for the guests´ use, too, so I´m trying one of them out, though as it has a Spanish keyboard and a trackpad rather than a mouse, it´s only slightly less awkward than the 'phone screen.
Before I set off on the trip, my friend Marcela put me in touch with her sister and a good friend who live in Santiago, and I´m meeting her sister for dinner tonight - which means I get to celebrate in company - and then tomorrow night I´m meeting with both of them and their husbands in a revolving restaurant. The B&B is in the restaurant quarter, so it´s fortunately been easy for them to choose restaurants quite close to me.
The weather is forecast to be in the low 30s throughout my visit, so I am not planning to get much sightseeing done. Some walking in the morning, maybe, and possibly a few trips to the cinema. And otherwise beer and blogging.
