The first day of 2013

Jan 01, 2013 14:11

It's already been a productive day here. I like the idea of doing the things on the first day of the year that you really think are important in the coming year, so there has been time with M and with my sweetheart (and more to come), some focus on financial matters and on scheduling, some emails sent to friends, some organizing and cleaning done (including laundry and putting away the tree, as well as room-cleaning and changing sheets). I am in the process of making chicken corn rivel soup (rivels are a form of homemade egg noodle, basically). And I've done a bit of writing (or pre-writing, really) for a poem.

Still on today's list: a nap, some meditation and tai chi, a phone call, and a very nice dinner with M and my sweetheart here at home.

To clarify: I don't do enough to make myself manic, but I did think it important to do representative tasks for the areas I'd like to focus on this year - improving my finances and my health, cooking at home, having a clean and organized home (it's a reach, but still . . . ), spending time with my sweetheart, and working on my writing career. So far, 2013 is off to a good start.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
