Tomorrow night

Apr 15, 2012 00:21

For one night - and one night only (on April 16, 2012, at 7 p.m. to be precise) - I'll be on a panel with Gregory Frost, Jennifer R. Hubbard, and Jon Gibbs, discussing the ins and outs, highs and lows, and other various extremes of writing for children. The event is taking place at the Cherry Hill Public Library, located in Cherry Hill, New Jersey.

Here's the official description:

Local authors share tips and information on getting published in today’s YA, Middle Grade and Children’s markets (organized by the New Jersey Authors Network: http://www.njauthorsnetwork.com).

So you’ve got a great idea for a book or story for younger readers, but how do you know which youth genre to aim at? Is it Children’s, Middle Grade or YA, and what’s the difference between them anyway? When the book’s done, what’s next? Do you take the traditional publishing route or go it alone?

Join New Jersey Authors, Kelly R. Fineman (Childrens); Greg Frost (YA); Jon Gibbs (Middle Grade) and Jennifer R. Hubbard (YA), for a fun, informative discussion on writing for younger readers, and the various options available to writers in today’s market.

Here's the link to register, but I'm pretty sure you can also just show up. Seriously. We'd love a crowd.
