Remember
when I said I was on the back porch of the barn/house in which we're staying here in Kent, Connecticute, working on a new song for my YA romance novel project? Well, Angela De Groot
angeladegroot documented it with this photograph. Here I am looking pensive as I try to figure out what comes next in this particular song.
Turns out I've written a ballad in 6/8 time, with a lovely walking bass part. It borrows some of its lyrics from Matthew Arnold's poem, "Dover Beach",
about which I once blogged, although most of them are mine. I'm currently quite in love with it. Hopefully I'll remember it well enough to record it when I get home. And then I hope I still like it when I hear it on playback.
