Monday morning

Sometimes Monday mornings feel like an imposition, but today is not one of those Mondays. For whatever reason, this particular Monday morning feels like a piece of time out of time - the sort that comes just before a new start. The sort that asks you to sit down with a cup of tea and plot out the week. And so I will.

At the moment, I am listening to some R.E.M., something I've not done in far too long. And it is making me exceedingly glad to listen to them. In a moment, I will figure out a meal plan for the week (something that's always subject to change for me, but still, a general idea is a good thing). And I will come up with a writing plan for the week by picking a few achievable measurable goals.

I've just gotten comments back on the Jane Project from the second of my three first readers, and comments back on my most recent Shakespeare poems from the third of my three first readers for that project. The Shakespeare poems in question don't require a thing, which is nice, but there are some questions and concerns about Jane that will require addressing. So one of today's projects will be to punch holes in the clean manuscript and put it in my handydandy Jane binder with its pretty cover (complete with art and fancy font - why yes, I am a geek, thank you for noticing) and transferring comments from my first readers to the actual manuscript. Plus I will start a revision letter to myself, something I found particularly helpful when I did revisions on the gnomes.

Another project I will work on today also involves a binder of sorts: I am dispensing with all those plastic and/or cardboard CD cases and filing all my CDs into cases along with their booklets. More than half of them fit into one binder, and I will do the other half today. It's a project that takes a while, but the payoff will be big - far less clutter in general plus one less piece of furniture (an over-full CD rack that can move out as soon as it's empty).

Pot roast is in the crock pot, music is on the CD player, the kettle is on for a second cup of tea. Tell me about your plans for the week.
