The one I saw was a few years ago at the National Museum of Women in the Arts in D.C. - they currently have an exhibit on The Book as Sculpture, a bunch of artists' books that blur the lines between book and statuary.
Thanks, Laura. And yes - the quilt was amazing. As were so very many of the books, made from all sorts of materials. So, so cool to see what people came up with, and how they were able to make a statement with their work.
I'll bet you mostly have books you can hold, which are the best kind. That said, the exhibit of artists' books was really amazing and inspiring and cool.
Yes, the visual element is really effective here! I thought the small print was a mistake until I read the words, and then I was like, ohhhhhhh.... nice!
