5 Things on a Friday

In the form of memos:

1. Dear Angela (that's angeladegroot, btw): Thank you for writing with me and encouraging me and inspiring me with your dedication. Also, I am blown away at your decision to write your first-ever sonnet for this week's writing exercise.

2. Dear Go Naturally: Thank you for making your Organic Honey and Organic Honey & Lemon candies, which I discovered after receiving some of the honey & lemon kind in the Debsness prize I won last month. Both of those flavors are made of awesome.

3. Dear Nick Bruel: I am working on your official questions, honest. Meanwhilte, thanks for writing such entertaining picture and chapter books.

4. Dear gnomes: Thank you for allowing yourselves to be locked in the back room for just a while longer, and for having decided to reduce your muttering to a lower level so that Jane can have done with the Northanger Abbey poem first. Whether the world really needs a Northanger Abbey poem that looks as if it may come in around 3000 words and take a solid three weeks for the first draft is an entirely irrelevant question at this point.

5. Dear friends: Thanks all of you for your support and encouragement. Special thanks to Angela, Bill and Linda for reading and cheering, to those of you who sent good vibes earlier this week, and to Anna (you know what you did). Any of you in the area who are able are invited to the launch party for the latest issue of Up and Under, the literary journal published by the Quick and Dirty Poets, in which my poem, "Sirens", will appear. The event will be held at The Daily Grind Coffeehouse in Mount Holly next Friday, March 27th, from 7-9 p.m., and I'll be reading "Sirens" (and possibly another poem as well) at that time.
