Congrats on finishing the MS. BTW you never told me what a filk song is? I guess I could do some research, but I'd rather you tell me. :)

It's a fandom-based song. The word "filk" came from a typo for "folk", way back in the 1970s. I've written 4 based on LOTR, and one based on Twilight.

Wow, I checked this out, very cool. You learn something new every day! I wonder if what I'm doing is in some way like this. My "almost" books have been inspired by songs. One is named after a song and the other I used the last line of a very well-known song for a title.

What you're doing sounds very much like the use of an epigraph (where a poem or story is based on a work by someone else - usually a few lines, but sometimes and entire poem or song).
