Quoteskimming - the LK Madigan edition

Dudes, I am totally cheating today. Because instead of providing you with quotes I've scared up myself, I am totally sending you to Drenched in Words, L.K. Madigan's blog. L.K. conducts author interviews now and again, and one of the questions she always asks (which, come to think of it, is not in the form of a question, but is more of an instruction) is: Advice for writers in 5 words or less.

And both this year and last, she has compiled these nuggets of awesome.

Here is this year's "Writing Advice in 5 Words or Less," featuring this excellent advice from Varian Johnson: "Enjoy successes - even small ones"
and this rather enigmatic advice from Adam Rex:
"The secret is to always -".

And here is 2007's compilation of writing advice, including this prize from Ellen Klages:
"First drafts suck. Keep going."
and this bit from Markus Zusak, who provided the advice in-person:
"Don't be afraid to fail."

Go. Read. See what wisdom a handful (or less) of words can hold.
