A lazy Tuesday post

First, thanks for the get-well vibes. They have (mostly) worked, and I have only the slightest residuals of yesterday's massive headache. Probably a migraine, which I get on rare occasions and can never identify whilst I'm in the midst of one. Why is that? (Rhetorical, unless you know the answer.)

Passion fruit-- wow. That *is* weird! The noise/light/nausea stuff is par for the course. I think the lack of connecting the dots that this is a migraine is part of it, too. Just wish you had a way of cueing yourself in early on, when the meds are most effective.

I wonder what did it to you this time. I get mine often enough that they're very predictable, and nowadays,I almost always "notice" in time to get some meds before things get out of hand. But when they were rarer (childhood and into my teens) I really had no idea what was happening to me. Now I carry ibuprofen with me, and have recently discovered that in a pinch, ginger altoids can be of some assistance.

Yes, that sounds weird, but here's the thing-- migraine processes fall under the same umbrella of brain events as motion sickness, for which ginger is an amazingly effective treatment. I tried it one day when I was stuck in the car with no water to take my ibuprofen with. I figured-- what could it hurt? By the time we stopped for gas and I could get some water, I told Dan not to bother-- my head felt fine!
