I wonder what did it to you this time. I get mine often enough that they're very predictable, and nowadays,I almost always "notice" in time to get some meds before things get out of hand. But when they were rarer (childhood and into my teens) I really had no idea what was happening to me. Now I carry ibuprofen with me, and have recently discovered that in a pinch, ginger altoids can be of some assistance.
Yes, that sounds weird, but here's the thing-- migraine processes fall under the same umbrella of brain events as motion sickness, for which ginger is an amazingly effective treatment. I tried it one day when I was stuck in the car with no water to take my ibuprofen with. I figured-- what could it hurt? By the time we stopped for gas and I could get some water, I told Dan not to bother-- my head felt fine!
