Exciting famous author stuff: 5 on a Friday

1. I got an email from Chris Crutcher today. Yes, that Chris Crutcher, the one whose book, Deadline, I reviewed last week. I am happy to say he seemed pleased by my review. Also, that he said he wanted the book to be about life, not about death. I can tell you for certain that he succeeded.

2. I got an email today from a mighty Web Goblin. I will say no more about it just yet, except to say that something exciting might be happening right here. Please hold thumbs for me.

3. Speaking of exciting famous authors, David Lubar is going to be here on Wednesday. Not here at my house, here on my blog. In a wicked-cool interview that's part of the Winter Blog Blast Tour. I promise you content you've never read before.

4. With any luck, I may have a second famous author here for an interview next week. Again, on my blog, not here at my house. If not next week, then soon, my pretties. Let's just say that I'm looking forward to spending some time with Bruce Coville, and leave it at that. (Then again, if you've met Bruce, I'm sure you understand why I'd want to spend time with him. The man is charm personified.)

5. Over at Brotherhood 2.0 this week, you can learn a lot about John Green's early development as a writer. On Monday, Hank shared a book that John wrote and illustrated when he was eight, called It's Not Fair (fans of John's work will recognize themes in this picture book that he wrote when he was eight that continue into his award-winning YA titles, Looking for Alaska and An Abundance of Katherines). Today, Hank shared video footage of John winning an award for his book (shades of things to come). Go. Watch it. See the moment that the muse entered John's body. Yes, really.
