Home again

The surgery is over and I'm home. Not as comfortable as I wanted to be but I am home. I've got 2 drains to contend with...one tube and one stuffed with gauze (it hurts) but overall I'm okay. Have to sleep on the right side of the bed now cause I can't get up on my right. Have to battle with the nearly constant head screaming gas pains. (They don't tell you about that). Now I know why babies cry when they have gas...it hurts. Made a schedule today to remind me when to eat, take meds, exercise, and change dressings---it will help with the caregiver too. I lost 4 pounds in 4 days which is exciting. I think I'm going to do well with this procedure. The thought of eating really doesn't enter my mind...food doesn't sound that good to me. I just enjoy my 4 ounces of liquid 6 times a day and leave it at that. Have to add protein to everything...got a protein powder to do that and you should see all the cool contraptions....lots of stuff from occupational therapy to play with. I feel good.
