13 pounds lighter!!!!! I went to see Dr. Hart the pulmonologist today and he said I was a model patient. My blood pressure was great, breathing great and to top it all off I have lost 13 pounds since the surgery. That's more than a pound a day and I'm sooooo excited. I only have to have a few more blood thinner injections and my drainage tubes should come out Monday. God I miss sleeping on my stomach!!!
Stopped into Dr. Kane's office to ask about the open drain. It seems to be oozing a little more than it was and it looks funky. He wasn't there but Dr. Kane Sr. was. He was all prepared to rip out my tubing but I told him that I would hold off on that until my appointment Monday. He looked at the other drain and wouldn't you know it? It looked waaaayyy better. So he is going to replace the gauze in the hole right? Well instead of using a Q-tip to push the gauze into this 2 inch long hole, he uses the pointed end of surgical scissor and tweezers!!! And he shoved it wwwwaaaayyyy down in there. John was about to freak out. It hurt like a mother. Those surgeons...they tend to forget they are working on a fully conscious patient every now and then huh?
I'm enjoying (if one can say that) the mushy food portion of the recovery. It's a hell of a lot better than the liquid diet...lots more variety. I'm sure I'll run into something that just doesn't hold it's own pureed but so far it's hunky dory. It's amazing that 1/2 cup of food makes me feel like I went to Outback. Really amazing.
Stopped by the store today, I miss everyone so much. They were real happy and amazed to see me. Just missed my district manager which is no loss. He's an idiot and I wish before I transfered to Indiana I have the opportunity to tell him that. He's still screwing the store over with management coverage while Pam is on Medical leave. Instead of finding my permanent replacement he keeps filling the store with temps. He needs to make a decision and get it done. Now the next temp is one of the worst managers in the district with a history of screwing around and being lazy. That's not what that store needs and he knows it. One day, they will see what a colossal screw-up he is but it's going to be with me a long distance away. Too bad, I'd pay a ticket to see that.
