Well three toiles later I finally have a workable pattern for Gaia. Yeah victory at last is mine! Of course the fact that I had to make three toiles means that I am now frightfully behind but I think I will still make it. Needless to say most of my weekend was spent working on coronation outfits. However I did manage to get down to Newark on Saturday for wine and dine and had an okay dinner at a middle eastern restaurant. I have to say that the chicken was a little dry but the hummus and pita were homemade so that more than made up for it. Otherwise my free time was spent running errands. So not much excitement. I also found out that a civil war event that I was looking forward to in Richmond was canceled, in fact two events were canceled in the last week, so that is sad. The next event after that is strangely one that both SCA and Civil War are at so I guess I will have to make a decision before then as to who I am going to hang out with for the day.
In other entertaining news I have gotten two offers for job interviews one was in San Jose CA and the other was North Carolina. Now I have less than no desire to move back to San Jose but the North Carolina one might have been okay if they had been willing to pay travel expenses, which they weren't. Do people even look at where you live before making these offers?
Random historical fact for the week: Don Alonso Pérez de Guzmán el Bueno, 7th Duke of Medina Sidonia, commander of the Spanish Armada had never been to sea before taking command of the fleet.
