It's been some time again, but I've read the story today and am absolutely delighted and awed. What a wonderful and lovely tale! As usual I simply love the way you tell something and the way your story unfolds. You manage to capture Luna's essence and spirit so extremely well one could think it was yourself writing about yourself and form own experience. What a wonderful gift!

Some of my favourite lines:
and then, as Luna and Xenophilius stood motionless and hopeful, holding hands and breaths, it had actually -- really and truly -- blibbered at her.
Vince grunted. "There's plenty ways of being smart, me mum says. Book-smart's only one of 'em."
he Quibbler was safe, because every spring, Mr Lovegood took a special spore-blocking potion that made him impervious to the flinkrumus's effects
"They don't seem to think they owe us portraits any explanation about anything. They just expect us to open and shut at their whims, as if we aren't part of the castle community, too."
And, together with the first one and the blibbering, this one:
"There can't be thorns," said McGonagall, looking critically at the bench. "I don't see any. You know I wouldn't make a beginner's transfiguration mistake like that."

Thank you for the comments! I always appreciate knowing which lines people liked. And I usually find Luna sort of a baffling character to write, so I'm glad you think she works here.
